Mission


To produce a variety of fruits and berries for the local community using maximum organic materials (mulch) & human energy, and a minimum of non-renewable energy & off-farm materials.

Where to Find Our Produce

1. Downtown Cumberland Farmers’ Market from 9:30 am to 2 pm on Thursdays August to October

2. Pick-your-own, advance reservation advised. Sampling is invited so you can match your palate to what we can provide.

3. Limited delivery to Everett and Bedford, PA and to Cumberland and Hancock, MD at our convenience may be possible on special request. Normally, berries will be delivered quick-frozen on ice and tree fruit (apples, pears, peaches) will be delivered fresh.


Our Selections

Hull Blackberry is a semi-tart thorn-less berry. Vines are trellised to about 6-feet high. Berries occur from near ground level to the top of the vine.

Season is largely from August 1 to September 15.

Tree fruit are in a wide variety of cultivars so seasons are spread over a maximum range—12 types of peaches, 18 types of pears (both European and Asian), and 120 types of apples. These are young trees not in full-productivity yet so availability is limited.

Location: We are located on the side of scenic Big Mountain near Artemis, Pennsylvania within 45 minutes of Bedford and Everett, PA and Cumberland and Hancock, MD.

Come for scenic beauty and to sample the diversity of times long past. In 1860, Pennsylvania had 500 commercial cultivars of apples. In the 21st century, we have about 20.
